Wide view of landscaped area showing hard landscaping and planting

pool design

Currently under construction, the requirements for this contemporary swimming pool and its surrounds involved substantial hard landscaping redesign, new architectural elements and sensitive, Mediterranean style planting.

From Pool To Renson with Gaze Burvill
tim's client requested that the existing swimming pool be replaced with a longer 17m by 4m swimming lane. Pivotal to their requirements the pool surrounds were to be redesigned with areas for entertaining. The client also wished for a Mediterranean yet contemporary feel to the space.

New sliding doors leading from the kitchen to the rear garden were to be introduced so the vista from there would be key to the layout. The introduction of a sunken fire-pit surrounded by planting whilst being framed by two bonsai Olive trees leading straight from the new doorway acts as an enticing focal point.

A new bespoke Oak pergola will be built which leads onto a parasol tree covered dining area. All existing paving is to be replaced with a mix of Egyptian beige limestone and clay pavers with the existing terrace raised to the interior finished floor level as inside out paving is being used to create a seamless transition between the two spaces.

All the newly designed areas will blend in with the existing garden using spacious Mediterranean style plant beds, dotted with varieties of multi-stem trees.
