This beautiful cottage and refurbished barn situated in the heart of the Cotswolds was undergoing a major renovation when Tim made his first site visit.
tim was asked to create areas for entertaining in the main courtyard whilst keeping the remaining garden as naturalistic as possible. His courtyard design includes an outdoor dining area with Lime "Tilia cordata" parasol trees for shade and a new BBQ area made from existing stone found on site.
A pergola and stepping-stone path create new vistas of an existing pond with a sculptural piece adding a focal point. This leads on to wild flower meadows and orchard with mixed fruit trees – the mown pathways offer easy walking amongst the planting and are great for fruit picking.
A new raised waterfeature is proposed within a walled area at the shady rear of the garden with lush green planting and a Lutyens garden bench for quiet reflection.
